Elected and Appointed Positions
Lambda South is a 100% volunteer driven organization. All of our officers, committee chairs and appointed positions do it as service work to the greater recovery community. We welcome all people who are interested to volunteer with us. The information on this web page comes from our bylaws.
President
The President is the principal executive officer of the club and oversees the Board of Directors. The previous year’s Vice President automatically becomes the current year’s president. The President’s duties are to manage, supervise and control all of the business affairs of the Club. The President, along with the Secretary or any other proper officer of the Club signs any certificates, deeds, policies, contracts, investments, or other instruments which the Board has authorized to be executed.
Vice President
The Vice President automatically becomes the next year’s President. The Vice President fills in for the President in the event the President is unavailable to fulfill their duties. In addition to signing authority, the Vice President also works the the President in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Club. The Vice President also serves as the Sergeant-At-Arms at all meetings of the Board or Membership.
Secretary
The Secretary is the principal recording officer of the Club, and is responsible for attending and keeping the minutes of all meetings, recording any votes not taken at the regular Board of Directors meeting, and to post a summary of the minutes on the Clubhouse website. The Secretary is also responsible for all outgoing correspondence from the Club, including email communications, website postings and social media posts.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is the principal financial officer of the Club and is responsible for overseeing the financial records and assets. The Treasurer makes all disbursements for expenses, records all deposits as reported by the Assistant Treasurer and in general keeps and maintains the financial records.
Assistant Treasurer
The Assistant Treasurer automatically becomes the Treasurer the following year, and works in conjunction with the Treasurer maintaining the financial records and is responsible for the collections and depositing of all moneys and reporting. The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for collection of rent from all groups and meetings, collection of any accounts receivable, reporting to the Board any situation regarding overdue accounts, empties the soda machine weekly and deposits said monies into the operating account, and prepares bank deposits and deposits the moneys weekly into the proper
accounts.
Building Manager
The Building Manager is responsible for overseeing building maintenance and repairs.
Operations Director
The Operations Director is responsible for day-to-day clubhouse operations, including ordering and maintaining supplies.
Membership Director
The Membership Director is responsible for maintaining membership rolls, recruiting new members and the collection of member dues.
Fundraising Director
The Fundraising Director is responsible for soliciting general donations and organizing fundraising/fellowship events.
Social Media Chair
The Social Media Chair is an appointed position and reports directly to the Secretary. The Social Media Chair is responsible for creating posts on Club related Social Media platforms as directed and approved by the Secretary.
Web Publishing Chair
The Club website is maintained by the Web Publishing Chair, who is an appointed position and reports directly to the Secretary regarding any outgoing club-related communications.
